What is a cache?
A cache is a saved copy of files, kept so pages load faster next time. Caching is why you sometimes see an old version of a page.
A cache is a store of saved copies. Your browser, your web host and a CDN can all cache parts of your website, such as images, styles and whole pages. The next time someone asks for the same file, the saved copy is served instead of rebuilding it, which makes the site faster. The process is called caching. The downside is that after an update, people may keep seeing the old copy until the cache expires or is cleared.
Why it matters for your business: When you make a change and do not see it, a cache is the usual reason. A hard refresh or a private window often shows the new version right away.
