What is a hard refresh?

A hard refresh reloads a web page while skipping your browser's saved copies, so you see the newest version of the page.

A hard refresh tells your browser to reload a page and fetch fresh files from the server instead of using the copies saved in its cache. In Chrome, Edge or Firefox on Windows, press Ctrl, Shift and R. In Chrome on a Mac, press Command, Shift and R. A normal refresh may still reuse saved files. A hard refresh does not clear caches held by your host or a CDN, so a change can take a little longer to show.

Why it matters for your business: Before reporting that an update did not work, try a hard refresh. It solves many "I still see the old page" problems in seconds.
