What is an A record?
An A record is a DNS record that points a domain or subdomain to a server's IPv4 address, such as the server that hosts your website.
An A record (A stands for address) connects a name to an IPv4 address, which is a number in four parts like 192.0.2.10. When someone visits your domain, their browser looks up the A record to find the server that hosts your site. A domain can have A records for the main name and for subdomains. If an A record holds the wrong number, visitors reach the wrong server or nothing at all.
Why it matters for your business: The A record on your main domain decides where your website loads. Changing it moves your site, so our team makes that change for you through a request.
