What is an EPS file?

An EPS is an older vector file format that printers and sign shops still sometimes request for logos.

EPS stands for Encapsulated PostScript. It is a file format from the early days of desktop publishing that can hold vector artwork, like a logo. Many print shops, sign makers and promotional product companies still accept or request EPS files. Newer workflows often prefer PDF, AI or SVG instead. You usually need design software to open or edit an EPS file.

Why it matters for your business: Keeping an EPS copy of your logo alongside SVG and PDF versions means you can answer almost any vendor's file request.
